Rogue bus enthusiast scandals : Yingjun Liu (SBSA)

Rogue bus enthusiast scandal : Yingjun Liu (SBSA)

The SMB137A plate theft "Chairperson" Naz Farihin,  "Vice President" Teo Boon Kiat and "President" Liu Yingjun of some SBSA nonsense.

Prologue

So I start off with another note of another rogue bus enthusiast scandal/bad behaviour. Actually, why do we even have to label them “bus enthusiasts” when they are clearly not.
Here goes.
Liu Yingjun, the ‘legendary’ "President" of the rogue "Singapore Bus Spotters Association" (SBSA). This is a chronicle of what took place that she did - on her own accord without any provocations. the younger ones and those who aren't aware of what happened (outside of the "bus group"). There was no prior conflicts leading up to this. This will also explain our actions afterwards.
  1. Dennis Dart tour.
So Liu was organising this Dennis Dart tour that was probably gonna retire or something. She was making the list of invitees, when Hong Koon, an invitee asked me if I was invited. In his view, I was probably invited and it was a casual question, no? Maybe he might want to find out more info or gather ideas as I was the guy who was suggesting photo ops ideas. Naturally, anyone would probably ask their closer friends first rather than look for the organiser - again, common sense human behaviour. So off I went to ask her nicely & casually on details, and keep in mind we were still friends at that point of time. Instead of a common sense calm response and details being passed down, she started flaming me, then attacked Hong Koon for ‘leaking’.

Notice the emphasis “nicely”. We still have the chatslogs (At this point, Liu it’s best if you take a look at our FB conversations and provide the chats screenshots. Knowing your tendency, you’ll probably accuse and fake out that the screenshots from me are “altered” and edited then use your boyfriend to shut us up. Go look, go examine your integrity) But Yingjun insisted that he should have come look for her instead of revealing the existence of the tour to me. How about putting yourself in his shoes and see why would he ask you? He guy you girl - he also interacts more with me than you as well. Plus why would he ask you who is invited?

What if you react negatively and started thinking he’s sabotaging you or trying to be busybody - considering how you reacted and accused him and me? And her reasoning for being so mad? She’s scared that we would leak to her then-dislike Christopher Tan who according to her “may ruin the tour”. She knew clear well I couldn’t be bothered with that showoff king while Hong Koon isn’t the kind of person to start leaking. Liu cooked up an embarrassing excuse to justify her false accusation. Seeing how she was reacting, I questioned her if she was not feeling well, or maybe her psychological condition she shared with a group (including me). At this stage, sure, you could deny that this meeting took place.

But I can provide the specific details and I don’t have a reason to make stuffs up. You were preparing to enter university, Rachel Lim Zhen Min (the manipulator) pulled me in to help you/advise you as you seem uncertain that you may have some psychological-related issues BEFORE YOUR UNIVERSITY, and 4 people (including your puppet) were chatting about it. Let me also help you recall that you told me to lower down my voice when I spoke out too loud on what you were supposedly facing. Well Liu, congratulations, the world knows now whatever psychological problems you may have. You accused me of calling you crazy when you’re the one divulging these details of your mental state to us. And then as a 180 degree, say that I'm a joke and seemingly making these stuffs up.

Our side had roped in other bus fans, one notably neutral Oh Ce Xun among others - Liu, you remember him - to try defuse the situation you created? Then you complain about you falling out with Lim Rachel and blamed it on us again. Really? You’ve got no social skills hence the self-inflicted wounds with your false accusations, and not stopping when many were giving a chance and had patience with you. You persisted with your ego to justify that Hong Koon did something terrible against you when he didn’t cause any damage. You created a mountain out of a molehill. You had to justify something was wrong no matter how or what it took.

Then she did the worse of what a human with conscience could do - making her no conscience. She removed Hong Koon's FB profile off the tour event page and claimed to the rest of the group "Somebody leaked tour info, she hope it won't happen again" etc after cooking up the trouble for us.
Regardless of reasoning and possibilities, one thing everyone can agree on. You did not handle what followed as a human, letting your emotions and your tendency to pin some blame on somebody go wild.

Probably "friend" doesn't exist in your dictionary so you could screw one over.

Dennis Dart TOUR DAY

I advised Hong Koon to go down and try to rendezvous with the tour. Kicking him out of the events page even though it is not justified. He may have made a small mistake, but it does not warrant the way you treated us. What happened when he showed up? You and Puppet Teo got the bus driver to drive off. He had called up Maxson Goh who also tried to get you people to stop but to no avail. Your claim is that there was no time to make a stop that could ruin your “tight” schedule and just drove off ditching him there. “Punishment”? Frankly you two have no rights to.

Aftermath
After all this was over, you went to apologise to him - you may think saying a “sorry” - and privately? After all these treatment private apology resolves everything? How would you feel if you were treated the same way? Thinking back, you think a private "meh" apology just washes your sins away, forgetting others whom you harmed and wasted time like Cexun Santhosh me.

What's wrong with you? I told Hong Koon, you’re a man - and you can’t just let a girl step on you and worse, without any justification. Plus, she needed to apologise to both of us + Cexun on wasting his time and clear up the air of her mistakes and false accusations, before even approaching us (or even before approaching Hong Koon to do the apology). She didn’t.

First strike, Liu. The chat screenshots will be released by you - because with you and your group's credibility, who the hell knows if you'll say we photoshop the screenshots to make you look bad and shit. Also don't forget the witnesses like Oh Ce Xun, Santhosh and others will remember what you did. Try lying your way out of this one again, Liu and Teo.

So why weren't you guys happy when some people on our side created a spoof SBSA page of your own silly group? You see you and Naz combined created how much problems ranging from theft, lying, ego etc. It was your own character, not us that prompted these.

2) False accusation of starter sabotaging bus fans

When an AMDEP Ang Mo Kio depot starter deployed a double deck on an uncertified route 171, it got bus enthusiasts to want to get a photo of it. Sure, one could also easily edit the mobitec EDS if one feel like it, so it doesn't really matter that time. However, another SMRT depot staffer caught wind of the unauthorised deployment and called up his bosses to get the bus to off service and prevent the bus and the depot starter/BC from getting into further issues.

Guess what Liu did. She accused AY (name redacted) depot starter of attempting to sabotage bus fans trying to get a pic of the bus, then went on further to accuse him of wanting to sabotage his colleagues instead of letting the bus complete its trip without anyone reporting it. And the ultimate killer? She then accused AY of harbouring an ulterior motive, don't know what he's attempting to do by doing all these to "sabotage bus fans chance of photographing the cameo" and not leaving it alone. All without any provocations, or any sound base. This was seen by bus fans as you wrote it on facebook.

Randomly accusing the depot starter inteference + ulterior motive + false claims the woodlands starter will "BOI", Girl, you know anything about buses? Obviously not.

And AY innocently was just doing his job and you accused him for what? The staff was trained in teh same course for double decks as the one who made a small mistake so this staff caught the mistake and was trying to save that staff's ass! Same M.O. and antics of false accusation and blowing things out of proportion. Plus, you showed your lack of obvious basic knowledge of buses and operations yet you are "President"? In THIS case, the starter won't get BOI and the earlier the bus is withdrawn the less problem it would be! In fact it's probably gonna be a small penalty at worse or at best, a refresher course! Hey future "President",  unless you're aspiring to be President Donald Trump,

Sounds familiar? Beause that's the same antic she employed to accuse Hong Koon and I. False accusations. Blowing things out of proportion. Thinking that the person has some agenda against her or others without real proof (just false accusations).

Hey Liu, If you hadn’t kicked Hong Koon or made a mountain out of molehill and attempted to falsely accused both of us of doing something that we won’t even do, or went to falsely accuse Alan Yap of things that he wasn’t even doing, you won’t be mentioned here at all. The kind of harm you brought upon bus fans was unecessary, and you have no rights to attempt to represent us bus fans on interviews.

3) SBSA's cheating during LTA carnival.

"President"Liu Yingjun transaction with the Enviro model at the bag of the unsuspecting public member, while attempting to circumvent the rules that no unauthorised sales on-site. Sorry bitch, you're still right be-SITE the carnival *ba-dum-tst*
And that's not all. During the LTA carnival, you, Naz, Boon Kiat and Matthew insisted on selling the SMRT Enviro500 bus models despite warnings from Picoart and LTA on the three locations the carnival was held. Insisting on bending the rules just to profit off an event. Spotted by senior bus fans, public and staffs  repeatedly selling and exchanging money under the table without realizing that there were observers catching you red handed.

Things got bad enough that we had to issue a public alert on the fact that they weren't supposed to do their own sales... of course, they never stopped.

The "senior management" of "Singapore Bus Spotters Association" going rogue and selling bus models despite multiple warnings and verbal banning by the organisers at all 2nd and 3rd carnival location. The PRESIDENT and CHAIRPERSON who should be making a common sense judgement to say "We should not sell after the first warning" - or in fact "NOT AT ALL" attempting to circumvent rules - from selling "outside" the exhibition area in the pictures to asking people to PRE-ORDER, without remembering there's a charity drive Knackstop was holding and them not even issuing official receipts for accountability! That's because you don't want to be caught with public asking about it regarding the donation drive related to Knackstop especially with that price of the model. Scamming the public and no accountability. It was so bad we had to make a post to warn the public!

Lacking the kind of "leadership" and "example" technically disqualifies you as some "president" of a self made association. You never made up with all of us - that includes a public apology for attempting to slander us with your princess temper.

Profiting at an official event that has a official charity fundraising....knackstop & LTA never endorsed the sales by "SBSA"

SMRT Buses : MAN Lion's City Double Deck (A95) /Gemilang (SMB5888H)

After SMRT introduced their Enviro500 double deck buses on July 2014, we all thought that it's gonna be the only model that SMRT's gonna operate for a while.

Turns out it isn't gonna be the case in about 4 months time....

SMRT's Enviro500 double deck! Though it quickly became not to be the only SMRT double deck in service in 4 months time.

MAN Lion's City Double Deck meets Alexander Dennis Enviro500!

MAN meets MAN!
The MAN Lion's City Double Deck was introduced as part of a one year trial at the request of MAN - this is an excerpt of the official post by SMRT on their Facebook page.

"We confirm that SMRT Buses will put on trial one new MAN double-deck bus at the manufacturer's request. The trial will last a year. This is part of our ongoing effort to test new bus models. Our commuters have welcomed the addition of double-deckers to our growing fleet of buses to meet increased demand." - https://www.facebook.com/SMRTCorpSG/posts/821427307878500

Bodied by Gemilang, it is promoted under the MAN Lion's City branding as a complete bus. There was a prototype that was spotted with a Lion's City Double Deck design in white though the fate of that vehicle is unknown.

MAN Lion's City Double Deck!
The MAN Lion's City Double deck, supposedly in pseudo-old SMRT livery without the SMRT logo apparently painted in grey (or edited?)
As compared to the actual Lions City Double deck! Photo by Michael F. Mehnert @ http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8e/NEOMAN_A39_2007-03-15.jpg

The right hand drive version of the Lion's City Double Deck has subtle change in design, most notably the top of the front and rear of the bus. Most notably, the front upper deck windscreen is and the top of the rear window is curved.
Upper deck rear window being slightly curved. Though the bottom half is similar to that of its European cousin.

For those that find the front design familiar, it has design cues that were based off an earlier Gemilang bodied double deck bus that entered service with SBS Transit - SBS7777Y.

Some of the the design cues came from this bus which was also bodied by Gemilang - even some of the interior too.

An aesthetics change is at the front - instead of silver under the windscreen, it is black! Does look better as compared to the ones we've been seeing on the MAN buses.

Black under the windscreen, making the MAN front bumper stand out!
As compared with the existing MAN bus paintjob.

Originally thought to be a new Mobitec signage, it turns out to be an Aesys signge.
The front signage is by Aesys - a first for SMRT Buses.

The offside has a unique feature - though it is not visible at all from the exterior.

Spot the extra window at the staircase area.

Spot the window?

And it's the first public bus to have 3 signal indicators per side for the rear of the bus.
And finally it enters service on 190

And if the interior looks similar - it's because it is also based off the Gemilang bodied Volvo B9TL, which sees the adjustable aircon outlet making an appearance on the Lion's City double deck too.
The interior is a mix of the MAN NL323F layout, SBS7777Y style design (including the ster New City seats)
Similar.
Closer look at the rear half

The upper deck is pretty similar to SBS7777Y too.
The upper deck of SBS7777Y

Similar to MAN NL323F!
The wheelchair bay has no foldable seat on the wheelchair cushion though....

The wheelchair bay, no foldable seat this time round - just a cushion.

Following the Enviro's 3 side facing seat arrangement.

Double exit!

The staircase, with a padding at the bottom of the steps to mitigate impacts if you slip and fall.
The front upper deck windscreen of the MAN Lion's City Double Deck!
The front half of the bus~

The ride is pretty comfortable and smooth, with the upper deck being very quiet. If you've rode the MAN buses in SMRT's fleet, you've pretty much rode the double deck (kind of) :P

SMRT's now also an operator of the MAN bendy, double deck and rigid - all 3 types of buses as of today! Photo from SMRT's Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/SMRTCorpSG/photos/a.568073366547230.1073741829.566549713366262/822866911067873/?type=1&theater

YN4397L - I Love Children Bus (Volvo B10M MK IV w/ DM3500 bodywork, ex SBS2744A)

Quite a long while ago, SBS Transit donated SBS7297R, a Volvo Olympian 2 axles non air-conditioned double decker bus to the I Love Children organisation, and it was converted into a mobile gallery vehicle to promote about parenthood.

Not around anymore - it's been scrapped.

The bus was retired and another replacement vehicle was donated by SBS Transit - this time round, a single deck bus in the form of a Volvo B10M MK IV with DM3500 bodywork.

Close enough. SBS2788Z.

And converted to the new MILK bus!

And hi there! On its first day and first display

So like its predecessor, most of the exterior of bus remains the same, though with modifications to accommodate for the mobile gallery setup. The exterior remain mostly unchanged, though with a new paint job. The doors now have a manual lock system so that people don't break in to the bus.

In general, not much has changed...But try to spot the missing feature on the bus. (Hint, no passengers are taking this bus anymore, so there's no need for the original bus cooling in the interior).

Though most of the original bodywork is retained, modifications were made to the bus.

Sutrak aircon system is removed, because it's too mainstream. Sort of.

The rear now houses a grille and an input for the power from an external generator.

While the rest are kept intact

Familiar bus is familiar

Unlike Molly the Library bus, the rear view mirrors are not replaced with the bigger housing type & two mirrors.

Its former identity still remains.

The rear, mostly intact, but with a grille and stuffs.

A new coat of paint - and the safety devices that keep the nuts tight from the SBS Transit days is retained.
Same for the rear axle & rim.
The wood flooring concept is retained, and now is in a much lighter colour compared to the Volvo Olympian wood flooring.

The flooring is now light brown wood style, and there's an additional step to compensate for the islands and engine hump which used to have seats mounted on it. It's to give it a flat floor in the gallery mode.
The identification plates.
For the chassis plate lovers.

The driver cab, minus the revenue equipments. The blue driver seat had been changed, complete with an armrest and a seatbelt. Yep, the Duple Metsec badge is still retained.
The whole interior is changed to a warm colour, to the tone of light orange.

Seat. With seatbelt. And armrest.
The Volvo B10M dashboard.

Everything is mostly retained as well.
Where the revenue service equipments & coinbox used to be.

And where the farecard reader and wires used to be.

Chassis plate at the top.

No more bus stopping.

Entrance!
And into the bus....

The interior of the bus. Yep, flat floor, 3 steps entry & exit.
The Doors Closing is removed.
Rear to front view of the gallery
An additional step after the standard 2 step from the original DM3500 body configuration.

And there you have it - the new I Love Children bus mobile gallery. For the appearances and its schedule, do check out this site @ http://www.ilovechildren.org.sg/bus-schedule/bus-schedule.html
